This vice is a project I machined over the course of a semester for the class ME 350. I used a manual vertical mill, lathe, band saw, surface grinder, and other tools. The vice is made out of steel for the main body with some brass segments such as the knurled knob. This project helped me get familiar with both the vertical mill and the lathe, but most importantly it helps me keep manufacturing considerations in mind when designing parts by knowing the limitations of the machinery.
